T20 CPL CRICKET AN UNHOLY ALLIANCE

T20 CPL CRICKET, AN UNHOLY ALLIANCE. I am not a fan of 20 overs cricket. I never liked it. The format sucks. It does not add credibility and finese to the game. It can be likened to an afternoon of casual and carefree bumper ball, played after work, or school, on a weekday, or, on a sunny Sunday when fans come out to place bets. Nonetheless, I have gone, reluctantly,to the  games when its a clash of nations! It evokes passion and pride when your country clashes with another nation in a battle of supremacy, like in the original Caribbean Twenty20. Nevertheless, the format is shallow and falls short of the classic, superb, nimble proficiency of cricketing skills and expertise that make the game one of intense intrigue and emotional gratification.  The franchise holders of the commercialized t20   teams, such as CPL and IPL, are only interested in making the best returns on their investment, while the team players are looking for remuneration that fills their pock...

I WILL DIE IN YOUR FATHER'S HOUSE

I WILL DIE IN YOUR FATHER'S HOUSE  I was born in Whim Village on the Corentyne and grew up in Corriverton, from the age of one year,  in the house shown in the first picture, which was moved from Whim when my father got a job at the Skeldon Estate.  When I wanted to take down my parents' home and replace it with a new structure( as seen in the other pictures). My mother would not allow me. My dad had passed and she said that his house was her palace. I will have to wait she told me. " I will die in your father's house," she said. Years after she died, and a new house was built, she told me in a dream that she was happy with the new house, and was glad that I waited.

RACING INTO HURRICANE IAN

RACING INTO HURRICANE IAN. Harry Bissoon  9/30/2022 Under the threat of an impending hurricane, from a slow moving storm in the Caribbean Sea, that was heading towards Florida, Esther and I decided to keep an appointment on the West Coast of Florida; one that we didn't want to cancel! So, we made a four-hour drive  from West Palm Beach on the East Coast to Tampa, being aware that the storm, later named Hurricane Ian, was heading in that direction! We got to our destination when Ian was approaching the Western tip of Cuba, with a projected path that was going to take it across Cuba, into the Gulf of Mexico, then up the West Coast of Florida, staying in water, and making landfall in Northern Florida. But all of that changed once it got past Cuba. Ian was going to make a northeastern turn, making landfall in Tampa where we had our appointment!  We stayed in a safe location, away from the high risk Tampa Bay, and waited for Ian to touch down on Tuesday afternoon, or so...
