CIVILITY, POWER, AND TIMELESSNESS
CIVILITY, POWER, AND TIMELESSNESS
The ravages of time constanly haunts us and forces us to look at our journey of life, and the inevitability of death, as unconquerable, with no recourse to remedial action. We are bombarded with rhetoric and manifestations of hatred, violence, and theoretical, doomsday scenarios, that give credence to the 'grow old and die' syndrome.
Civility has become a thing of the past! Unity is nonexistent, and only becomes relevant and convenient when it is necessary, even though we oftentimes, as underdogs, contribute, initiate, and foment such disunity, in efforts to climb to the position of top dog. Polarization, as a tool, is the new wave, pushing us to chaos, and driving us to the brink of extinction!
We do not talk anymore! We use social media, as impersonal as it is, to bash, ridicule, and inundate each other with fake news and questionable opinions. We incessantly molest each other, instead of having creative, objective discussions! Sacrosanct principles and morality are twisted and reinterpreted to suit our needs, in pursuit of our nefarious ends, which then become our norm. We continue to break down what has already been built, even though it is good and beneficial, just to satisfy our ego, and the fantasies of those who support us. We have, out of vindictiveness, disregarded basic concepts that are integral to the making of a strong society, and to build upon the strength and goodness of our forerunners.
This mad rush to the brink of a dark, abysmal precipice of degradation and death, can be avoided by seeking timelessness, and, realistically, conquer this chaotic existence. Let us respect each other and steadfastly embrace love, peace, and truth. Let us support each other, and offer help when it is needed, and become timeless, unbounded by the limitations of time and space.
In a mad rush to gain ascendancy, in whatever spheres of life we find ourselves, let the truth prevail. Temper this truth with love, respect, and peace. With these timeless attributes, we will live on to eternity.
