 BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATERS

We live in times of unending trouble, tribulations, and uncharted waters, as we negotiate with nature, the universe, and the  unseen spirituality that binds, or unbinds us, with unbreakable threads that are made with beliefs, traditions, and years of learned behavior.


History, recorded, and unrecorded, is replete with brutal wars, famine, sicknesses, and cases of ethnic cleansing, going back to eons, and eons of our development as human beings. We have been defeated, humiliated, and devastated by purges, gore, and unseen viruses, but we were able to rise above these attacks and sicknesses, and continue to chart our way forward.


Bridges of spirituality, technology, and human endeavors, have been constructed, allowing us to bypass, and cross over these never-ending storms that follow in our footsteps, and have become wedded to our fragile existence. 


Covid-19, the latest scourge of humanity, is marching on, the intensity and speed of which have been slowed, but still clutches at our coattails. Nonetheless, even though the threat still remains, a work in progress,of vaccines and precautionary measures, to combat the virus is continually unfolding. Vaccines have been produced in a fraction of time that it would normally take to reach sustainable, effective, and efficient human application, offering hope of going back to normalcy.


How long the vaccines will keep us immune is still being examined, and the question of people with the vaccines still being carriers and transmitters of Covid-19 is a matter of ongoing research and study. 


Herein lies the usefulness of the bridge over troubled waters. We must continue to take precautions and follow all protocols in our fight against the virus. Let us make these tools our bridge to safety. 


We must combat all sicknesses, not only Covid-19, and remain positive in our fight to be healthy and strong. We must be thankful for good doctors and other frontline workers who attack ailments, diseases, and other threats to a healthy life.

FIRERASS  Harry Bissoon 2/13/2026 Mabel, up before sunrise, long before the cock, Natty, crows.  In haste, amidst hazy and foggy mist, she pushes herself to limits anew, to meet deadline, daily vows,   The light shines through neighba Aunty Breto's windows, in an eerie brightness.  It flashes,dances,and speeds into the still darkness,  Look! THE PANGS OF DEATH

Death is ever present, and  like a dark specter of doom, it hovers above and around us, waiting in the shadows to attack and devastate. It is envious of birth, which brings joy and happiness to us. Envious of our struggles down paths of thorns and roses.It follows us, breaching our defenses when and where we least expect it. Maybe this is why some of us celebrate death and mourn the coming of new life. Maybe this is why some of us glorify death and its painful throes of the unfettered release of our souls to be free of the agonizing clutches of life.
