LIFE ABOUNDS

IN THE ACTIVE STILLNESS OF THE ETHER, LIFE ABOUNDS.

Harry Bissoon 3/31/2023

Weeks away from home in a microcosmic bubble being subjected, it seems,  to the unending, unmoored rigors of medical finese and technological wonders of a team of doctors and technicians who displayed a remarkable skill set. It was six weeks of life sustaining, life endearing, life revealing efforts that created inspirational windows to life and faith, it was six weeks of meditation  and soul searching that opened the doors to waves of  thoughts, each with its own vibrations.

The poet, Rumi, was incredibly right when he said that 'This being human is a guest house, each morning a new arrival. A joy, depression, a meanness. Some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.'

We live in bubbles that drift and pop, leaving us exposed to the vagaries of house guests who meander, bob and weave, entering our  open doors with happiness, sadness, and devastation. Must we open our arms to them and welcome them, as Rumi believed, and allow them to create havoc and mischief, or, become immersed in the rays of love and joy that others come with? And allow this conglomeration of opposing forces to wipe our hard drives clean, and to make us new beings, if perchance we can survive the onslaught!

The fact that we can slumber, kneel and fall, and rise in glory is what makes life challenging, fulfilling and covered in goodness! We are all children of graft and gratitude! And the trials of life and living are ingrained in our psyches. Life is a crucible of highs and lows, and our ability to harness these forces is what makes us what we are - humans.

In the end, our visitors and unannounced guests are what make us what we are, and the sensitive, elaborate, and fragile bubble in which we are caught, are our hunting grounds. The tender layers of love, faith, and belief systems that surround us are our staff and rod of protection. The realistic reality of newl technology, and sometimes harsh intrusions in our lives, are never ending wonders of an evolving world. This too brings protection and abounding joy!

Goodness and evil, charity and selfishness, happiness and grief, contentment and discontent, health and sickness, traditional and new age lifestyles, tribulations and victory, all lead to salvation. We live a life of opposites, positives and negatives, and they all mold us into what we are. In the end, all of this is tempered by technological and spiritual factors to produce excellence, or, mediocrity.
